The Flood Will Sweep the Whole Region! Von der Seite der KO (Ffm):

Erklärung der Palästinensischen Kommunistischen Partei zum Tag des Bodens – Einschätzungen zur Al-Aqsa-Flut

16. April 2024

Kassioun Editorial 1170: The “Israeli” Predicament is Deepening Daily

Over 190 days have passed since the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation started, followed by the barbaric aggressive war on the Gaza Strip, and all that is happening in parallel of criminal retaliatory behavior in the West Bank and strikes on Syria and Lebanon. It is by far the longest war in the entire history of the Zionist entity, and it has not achieved any of its declared goals. Moreover, its predicament at the various levels is becoming deeper and more complex, while carrying the seeds of a comprehensive change in the entire system of the region. The unprecedented direct Iranian strikes on the Zionist entity are only one feature of that change.

The many components of the “Israeli” impasse are intertwined, but among the most important are the following:

First: The new international balance continues to emerge day after day, and the desperate American struggle to turn back the clock, through “the dead old clinging to the threads of the alive new”. This is reflected in the relationship between the Americans and the Zionist entity, as American work is underway to control the Zionist entity within the limits of its original function as an American tool to achieve American strategies in the region and the comprehensive American strategy. This is clearly evident in the extent of the Zionist entity’s near absolute dependency and reliance on the US, including ammunition, defense and attack systems, economic realities, and political positions at the international level. All of these lead to one fact: the Zionist entity has lost any “relative independence” it previously acquired in the past during times of “relative calm” and American advancement at the international level.

Second: Regarding the Zionist entity’s war on Gaza, and despite the horrific crimes it has committed and is committing, nevertheless for the first time in its history, it is completely unable to achieve any of its goals, to the extent that the previously rare news of its soldiers getting killed has become recurring daily news. This has resulted in the Zionist entity losing its claimed deterrence capabilities and the legendary advancement of its army and weapons. All of this has deepened the already worsening internal crises on the demographic level within the Zionist racist scale, and on the economic level. Perhaps more importantly than that, it has made it lose the two most established foundations of its existence: the military superiority, which ensures a complete separation of its settlers from their immediate, regional, and international reality; and economic prosperity, which encourages continuing immigration thereto and staying therein. Ultimately, Zionist colonialism is a settler colonialism somewhat similar to French colonialism in Algeria, which, as soon as the Algerian resistance strikes intensified, began to crumble and collapse, leading to the mass flight of more than 800,000 French settlers within two years.

Third: The new regional situation in which the occupation has become directly targeted in parallel from several arenas – from Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, and most recently, Iran. In this same situation, a significant part of the contradictions and conflicts that were one of the foundations of preserving the Zionist project were simultaneously getting resolved. Most important of those is the reduction of the degree of contradiction between Iran on the one hand and the main Arab countries on the other, and even between Turkey and these countries, to the point that some Gulf countries announced denying the US use of their bases in the Gulf in the context of responding to Iran or clashing therewith. This alone is a major qualitative shift from the previous situation.

If we combine the previous components with the accelerating American and Western decline, economically, politically, and among the general public, and the steady progress of the rising powers, we will see a picture indicating that major changes at the regional level are closer than ever before. This does not necessarily mean a rapid transition to comprehensive wars, but it does mean that resistance to American-Zionist projects in the entire region will continue its gradual and deliberate escalation until it reaches its final goal.

In this context, Syria is one of the main points within the region that needs to break the American-Zionist project as quickly as possible. A comprehensive political solution in Syria, based on UNSC Resolution 2254, will provide true unification of the Syrian people, and a clear and unambiguous positioning within the general battle, allowing the transition from the eternal preservation of the right to respond, to true deterrence.

Kassioun Editorial 1171: The Iranian Attack and “Tom & Jerry”

Two opinions are being promoted in some media outlets, and within Syrian political and general public circles, regarding the Iranian attack on “Israel” on April 14. The first opinion considers what happened to be mere theatrics directed by the US and performed by both Iran and Israel”, in a similar style to “Tom & Jerry”. The second opinion is that we, as Syrians, have no business in this conflict, and nothing will come to us from it except losses.

The relative popularity of opinions of this kind (and it is not surprising that extremists from all sides are promoting them) is the result of the accumulation of years of crisis, along with decades of insulting patriotic slogans by using them to cover up plunder, corruption, and oppression. It is also a product of the accumulation of American-Zionist propaganda over decades, supported, of course, by Syrian warlords from the various sides, who still believe that their survival and salvation are linked to pleasing the American boss.

It is not hard to realize what lies behind these opinions: starting with attempting to revive the Sunni-Shiite divide in the region, primarily for the benefit of the Zionist entity; justifying the failure of the Arab regimes; trying to distort the image of the resistance within the popular consciousness; and attempting to prepare the ground for the illusions of normalization and enjoying American approval.

An objective reading of the Iranian attack, away from any prior bias, reveals several things, the most important of which are:
First: It is an unprecedented attack over the past decades, whether in terms of its size, the type of weapons used, or the fact that it is a direct confrontation at the state level, and not at the level of groups and organizations.

Second: In a purely military sense, although news of the attack was known at least 72 hours ahead of time, and “Israel” countered it in cooperation with the US, Britain, France, and Jordan, it was able to hit its two main military targets. Those targets were an intelligence center in the occupied Syrian Golan, and an airport in the Negev, with hypersonic missiles, only a very limited number of which were launched, and all of them reached their targets. Nothing among all Western defenses today can confront this type of missile.

Third: In the military-political sense, in addition to exposing the entire “Israeli” defense system in its maximum operating state, what was targeted and destroyed, specifically in the airport, were the runways made of several meters of reinforced concrete, the same ones used to protect the Dimona reactor and the “Israeli” nuclear arsenal. This was a clear message that targeting the reactor and arsenal is an option available to Iran in the event of a comprehensive confrontation.

Fourth: In a political sense, the attack was designed to cause no casualties. This is evident from announcing it ahead of time, and from choosing to fly both the drones and cruise missiles at high altitudes (making it easy to shoot them down). The attack was designed in this manner so as not to serve Netanyahu in seeking to expand the scope of the war, but at the same time conveying the political-military messages that needed to be conveyed as clearly as possible.

The most important goal of promoting “Tom & Jerry”-style opinions is to try to obscure the major change that has taken place and is taking place in the international balance of power; the change in which Washington – and with it the Zionist entity – is retreating, at increasing speeds, while China, Russia, and their allies are advancing at the regional and global levels.

As for Syrians, the battle with the Zionists has always been their main battle, and still is. Even their internal struggle is an extension of this battle against the representatives of neocolonialism, including plunderers, corrupt people, and warlords. It has been proven in practice that those who separate the national struggle from the socioeconomic struggle fail in both, regardless of whether it is done naively or deliberately.

In the end, the facts and consequences of the Iranian attack, and the “Israeli” media response thereto, place the entire region on the cusp of a new phase, the title of which is resolving its crises without the American and at its expense and the Zionist’s expense. This implicitly includes resolving the Syrian crisis on the basis of UNSC Resolution 2254, in a way that unites Syria and the Syrian people, and in a way that guarantees the right of the Syrian people to self-determination; a people who, no matter how intense the attempts to manipulate their consciousness, will never stand against the Palestinian cause, which has previously been and even more today constitutes a compass for global polarization.

Kassioun Editorial 1173: In Order to Win the Golan... and win Syria!

Washington continues its unlimited support for Tel Aviv, including through attempts to suppress American students protesting the genocide, in a continuous and painstaking search for a way out of their common predicament.

In the field, “Israel” has been unable, despite all Western financial, media, military, and political support, to achieve any of its declared goals in Gaza, not to mention the gradual escalation of resistance in its various forms in the West Bank.

Moreover, “Israel” and Washington have been unable to control the multiple supportive open fronts – which are likely to escalate – against the Zionist Entity, from southern Lebanon to the Houthis to Iran to Iraq and recently even Bahrain.

At the media and popular levels, including in the West, there is now openly talk about the collapse and fall of the Zionist narrative, and the student demonstrations in the US, which have started moving towards Europe, are an important indicator in this context.

At the political level, a deal is being sought that would constitute a partial way out for the Zionist Entity and Washington, and also for Biden – who is awaiting heated elections – through normalization with Saudi Arabia. All realistic indicators – despite all the American and American-subservient Arab media deception – say that there is no horizon for such a way out, and that the alleged “temptations” presented to Saudi Arabia no longer have any practical value. Starting with the talk about “Western defense systems”, which have failed in the Saudis’ test thereof for their effectiveness in the Yemen war and failed the past seven months in Gaza and everything that happened on its margins. The “temptations” also include the peaceful nuclear reactors, for which Saudi Arabia now has two other declared options to provide without political conditions: China and Russia. Other “temptations” include the alleged “economic benefits”, which were experienced by the countries of the Abraham Accords, and therebefore by Wadi Araba and Camp David, and which were summarized by the poet Ahmed Fouad Negm a long time ago, when he said: “Oh joy on Victory Day, we won Sinai and lost Egypt”.

Within these coordinates, it seems that the US and with it the Zionist Entity, are looking for another unexpected way out: through Syria.

Talk about the “step for step” project, which is nothing new and we have previously looked into in detail many times. This project boils down to an under-the-table agreement that undermines the political solution by destroying UNSC Resolution 2254, perpetuates the de facto division, and transfers Syria permanently from one bank to another within the framework of geopolitical positioning at the regional and international levels.

What is new is the increasing indicators in American-Zionist action in this direction, starting with Biden’s direct intervention in preventing the passage of the “anti-normalization” act, and hastily implementing the recommendations of the IMF and World Bank inside Syria in terms of the economy and the role of the state apparatus in it and in society as a whole. There are also other similar indicators, including European movements, as well as operations to cauterize social consciousness in Syria by breaking all previous national taboos by describing “Israel” as an “aggressor”, in contrast to Iran as an “enemy”, which happened through one Emirati channel while hosting a speaker from Inside Syria.

Syrians’ principled and patriotic position against the “Israeli” Entity is a position that has always been correct, and today it is more fundamental and necessary from the point of view of Syria’s existence and its future.

Moreover, if this position in previous international balances was a principled one, today it is a principled, practical, and applicable position all the way to actually liberating the Golan. This victory will not be like that of Camp David when “we won Sinai and lost Egypt”. We must win the Golan and Syria together.
Pursuing the patriotic option to the end requires the broadest alliance among Syrian patriots, regardless of their current alignments, towards solidifying Syria’s patriotic position through a basic tool: restoring the Syrian people’s right to self-determination, through a comprehensive political solution based on UNSC Resolution 2254. This would be done in cooperation with Astana, China, and main Arab countries, including Algeria and Saudi Arabia, and against wishes of the American if necessary.
